Oshi no Ko anime character designer Kana Hirayama (also known as Kappe) drew Akane Kurokawa posing like Ai Hoshino after the premiere of episode 7 on Wednesday. In the final moments of the episode, Akane resembled the legendary idol in hopes of attracting Aqua and protecting herself from the harm caused by the backlash.
Oshi no Ko episode 8 will air on June 7 as the TV anime will have a special program on May 31. Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) is directing the series at studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) with Saori Tachibana (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as the assistant director. YOASOBI performs the opening song titled “Idol” while Queen Bee is singing the ending theme “Mephisto.” Manaka Iwami is voicing Akane Kurokawa.
HiDIVE is streaming and describes the story as:
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
