Oshi no Ko season 2 revealed a new visual and trailer featuring the main and additional cast at the Anime Japan 2024 stage event. The second season is slated to premiere this July. The anime also released character visuals of the characters in the Tokyo Blade stage play.
Studio Doga Kobo (Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie) animated the first season of the series with Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) as director and Saori Tachibana (Wasteful Days of High School Girls) as assistant director. Jin Tanaka (Love Live! Nijigasaki High School Idol Club) wrote the scripts and Kanna Hirayama (Rent-a-Girlfriend) was in charge of the character designs.
Yoasobi performed the opening theme song “Idol” while Queen Bee sang the ending theme song “Mephisto.” The main cast will reprise their roles for season 2:
The TV anime adaptation is based on the manga series written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump has been serializing the series since April 2020. The manga also inspired a live-action adaptation. The anime series is available to stream on HiDIVE and Netflix Asia, and the former describes the story as:
