Oshi no Ko Tops Anime Ranking After Premiere Episode, Dominates in Week 2

OSHI NO KO, this season’s most anticipated anime, has justified the fans prior excitement and managed to top the anime ranking in week 2 following an incredible ~82-minute premiere episode. 21,634 people voted, and it took 11.81% of the votes. Behind it was another highly anticipated anime, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Swordsmith Village Arc, which also had a longer episode (about 45 minutes) and took 6.15% of the votes. OSHI NO KO anime is based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and illustrated by Mengo Yokari (Scum’s Wish). It is animated by studio Doga Kobo, with Daisuke Hiramaki as the director and Saori Tachibana as the assistant director. Kanna Hirayama is adapting the character designs from the manga, while YOASOBI performs the opening song titled “Idol”. Rie Takahashi voices the popular idol Ai Hoshino.

The anime is streaming exclusively on HiDIVE, and they describe the story:
Dr. Goro is reborn as the son of the young starlet Ai Hoshino after her delusional stalker murders him. Now, he wants to help his new mother rise to the top, but what can a child do about the dark underbelly of the entertainment industry?
