Overlord IV (Season 4) Sets 2022 Release Date, Gets New Key Visual and Trailer

The official Twitter account for the Overlord TV anime has confirmed that Overlord IV (Season 4) will release in 2022, and they also released a new key visual and trailer for the series. They previously announced the new sequel in May of this year, along with an upcoming movie. Studio MADHOUSE will be back to animate it once again, and you can check out the new key visual:

Kugane Maruyama writes the original light novel, which has been publishing since 2012. The first anime season came out in 2015, with seasons 2 and 3 coming out in 2018. Studio MADHOUSE animated all three, and recap movies that followed. Crunchyroll describes the series: 

When a popular MMORPG is scheduled to be shut down permanently, veteran player Momonga refuses to log out. As NPCs begin to develop personalities and minds of their own he decides to put his skills to use as the game’s new overlord.

Overlord (IV) Season 4 will release next year, and we’ll be seeing Ainz and Albedo (and others) again!
