The previously announced Paradox Live anime has revealed its first teaser trailer during the recent “Paradox Live Dope Show 2023” event held at Makuhari Messe in Chiba on May 21. Studio Pine is animating the series, which is set to premiere this October.
Naoya Ando is directing the series and writing the script, while Takayo Ikami is doing the series composition. Koji Haneda is in charge of the character designs. The cast includes:
Paradox Live is a Japanese multimedia project by Avex Pictures GCREST. It features a total of 29 characters, centered around rap battles between each faction. Avex Pictures describes the Paradox Live project as:
Paradox Live is a Hip-hop mixed media project born by a joint collaboration between Avex and G Crest since 11/6/2019. Set in the near future, saturated in Hip-hop culture comes a new movement known as “Phantom Live. Each rapper uses a metal accessory called “Phantom Metal” that reacts to the user’s DNA and displays an illusion linked to their emotions, setting a magnificent stage for enthusiastic youths.
With a sudden revival of renowned club “CLUB paradox” hosting Paradox Live, four teams known as BAE, The Cat’s Whiskers, cozmez and Akanyatsura clash in the competition. The victory went to cozmez but in the heat of battle, the legendary team Buraikan was stirred and sparked the start of a new challenge. Time passed, new teams, VISTY, GOKU LUCK, 1Nm8 and AMPRULE joined the project. Each character features the most popular voice actors leading the current animation entertainment.
A smartphone game adaptation for Paradox Live is also in the works.
