Pokemon Horizons Anime Announces New Cast Members

Pokemon Horizons: The Series announced four additional cast members on Saturday during Anime Japan 2024. The series revealed a short trailer of the new characters and their voice actors for the first time which you can check out below:

The voice actors will be playing the roles of the Paldea region’s Elite Four who were introduced in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. The new characters will be making their appearance in the third chapter of the Pokemon Horizons: Terastal Debut. The Elite Four cast are as follows:

  • Mitsuki Saiga (Opera – Marimashita! Iruma-kun’s) as Rika
  • Miria Takagishi (Popo – Otakuchanzu) as Poppy
  • Kosuke Toriumi (Nozel – Black Clover) as Larry
  • Ryotaro Okiayu (Byakuya – Bleach) as Hassel

After the announcement, the Pokemon anime series released messages from each of the cast. The messages can be seen on the Pokemon anime series’s official X/Twitter account.

Pokemon Horizons: The Series is the new anime series for the Pokemon franchise and the successor of the original Pokemon anime series. It started airing its first story arc in April 2023 and features two protagonists, a girl named Liko and a boy named Roy. They both joined a group of adventurers called the Rising Volt Tacklers and traveled across regions to solve the mystery of Liko’s pendant and Roy’s Pokeball. The series currently has 3 story arcs with the third, Terastal Debut, scheduled to air on April 12, 2024. The first story arc of Pokemon Horizons is also currently streaming on Netflix in both English dub and sub.

The Pokémon franchise began in 1996 with Pokémon Red and Blue for Gameboy consoles. Since then, it has grown into a multimedia franchise that includes games, manga, TCG, and anime series and films. The franchise has 122 known games including the recent Pokemon games, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and the upcoming Pokemon game Legends Z-A which is set to release in 2025. The franchise also has two anime series including the recent anime series, Pokémon Horizons.
