Police in a Pod manga is getting an anime adaptation. The anime will air in 2022, but the exact date still isn’t available. A visual for the series and a teaser PV were also revealed.
Studio MADHOUSE (Sonny Boy) is animating the Police in a Pod adaptation. Yuuzou Sato (Magical Warfare) is directing, while Kei Tsuchiya (chief animation director for No Guns Life) is doing character designs. Ryuunosuke Kingetsu (Ulysses: Jeanne d’Arc and the Alchemist Knight) is in charge of series composition.
The Police in the Pod is a comedy slice-of-life manga by Miko Yasu. It started serialization in Kodansha’s Morning magazine in 2017 and currently has 174 chapters. The plot follows a duo of female police officers, Mai Kawai and Seiko Fuji. Kawai is an inexperienced newbie, with a pure heart and honest intentions. However, she doesn’t see a future in the police force, until she meets Fuji.
Kodansha describes the story as:
Female police officer Kawai had enough of a career she wasn’t even that into and was about to hand in her registration, when the unthinkable happened—she met the new, female director of her station! And after spending a little time with this gorgeous role model, Kawai realizes that maybe she isn’t quite done being an officer after all.
Shion Wakayama voices Kawai, while Yui Ishikawa voices Seiko.
