The previously announced Pop Team Epic Season 2 revealed a new key visual ahead of the October 2022 premiere. The gag comedy series will be animated by studios Kamikaze Douga (known for animating JoJo’s Bizzare Adventure opening themes) and Space Neko Company (Ore, Tsushima).
The October release date was announced in March of this year. Pop Team Epic Season 2 also previously revealed a trailer that features Shota Aoi, who appeared in the first season and also performed one of the ending themes titled “Poppy Pappy Day“:
The story is based on absurd comedy manga series written and illustrated by Bkub Okawa. It often contains slapstick comedy and crude humor and each episode includes a number of short skits while featuring the adventures of the main characters.
Crunchyroll streamed the first season of the anime and describes the plot as:
Crude, rude, and a little…cute? Get ready for the larger-than-life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars of Pop Team Epic! Based off the bizarre four-panel webcomic by Bukubu Okawa comes a comedy that’ll throw you off with its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You think you’re ready for these girls? Think again, F#%**er!
