The official Twitter for the Reincarnated as a Sword franchise has announced a TV anime adaptation. More details, such the broadcast and information on the production, will be revealed at a later date. For now, they released an announcement visual, which you can see below:
Reincarnated as a Sword, also known as I Became the Sword by Transmigrating or Tenken, is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuu Tanaka and illustrated by LLO. It started as a web novel on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in October 2015. Some of the other popular series that were/are on the website are Mushoku Tensei, Re:Zero, Overlord, Log Horizon, Konosuba, and many more. It follows a 30 years old man as he reincarnates as a sword.
Reincarnated as a sentient weapon with memories of his past life, but not his name, a magical sword saves a young beastgirl from a life of slavery. Fran, the cat-eared girl, becomes his wielder, and wants only to grow stronger, while the sword wants to know why he is here. Together, the strange duo’s journey has only just begun!
In addition, it began publication through the publisher Micro Magazine in July 2016. Volume 12 releases today in Japan on September 24. The series has a spin-off manga by Hinako Inoue. There is also a direct manga adaptation by Tomowo Maruyama, which is published through Gentosha’s Comic Boost service.
Among many long isekai titles lately, this hits different. While not long, it does make you wonder how far a sword will go. The non-readers will have to wait for the Reincarnated as a Sword anime, so let’s wait for some details. Meanwhile, you can check the 5 isekai coming in Fall 2021!
