Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote Gets an Anime

The Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote girls’ love (GL) series is getting a TV anime. The adaptation was announced during the special program that celebrated the release of the 8th volume of the light novel held on Wednesday. Voice actors Moe Toyota and Miku Ito are reprising their roles as Chika Watanabe (Yuhi Yugure) and Yumiko Sato (Yasumi Utatane) respectively. The two previously voiced the characters in the trailer for the light novel. The staff and the rest of the cast are yet to be announced. A visual to commemorate the anime announcement was also released.

The anime will be based on the light novel series written by Ko Nigatsu and illustrated by Saba Mizorure. The series began publication in February 2020 by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko publishing imprint. The title won the Grand Prize in the 26th Dengeki Novel Prize back in 2019. A manga adaptation by Umemi Makimoto was started in 2020 with 3 volumes in total.

Seiyuu Radio no Uraomote TV anime will follow the story of Yuuhi Yuugure and Yasumi Utatane, two high school voice actresses who happened to be in the same class. Both are hosts of a weekly radio program. As fellow classmates and voice actresses, they show all the listeners their great friendship! At least, on the surface. In reality, the quiet girl Chika and the gyaru Yumiko are complete opposites and they absolutely cannot stand each other. Off air, chaos and insults erupt. On air, they’re the best of friends. Just where will this tumultuous relationship lead them?

I can talk about seiyuus for days. A connoisseur of cute girls doing cute things and fluffy romance stories always make me smile. I mostly watch slice-of-life and rom-coms with drama on the side.
