Sonny Boy Reveals Mid-Season Trailer

Sonny Boy, MADHOUSE’s newest anime, revealed a new mid-season trailer after the end of today’s episode 6 broadcast. The episode marks a turning point in the anime’s story so far.

The new Sonny Boy trailer premiered on YouTube earlier today. You can watch the full video below:

The official Twitter account for the anime also unveiled a special illustration by Sakika Suzuki, an animator working on the series:

Studio MADHOUSE (No Game No Life) is producing the anime. Shingo Natsume (One Punch Man) is directing and writing the script for the anime, while Hisashi Eguchi (Perfect Blue) is doing the original character designs. Shinichiro Watanabe is supervising the soundtrack. The story is an original work.

The plot focuses on a group of middle school students who find themselves in another dimension. Chaos ensues after they realize they gained mysterious abilities. Some fight for power, while others try to find a way back to their world. But, something more mysterious is at play and they will soon have to unite to find a way back home.

The anime received an early premiere in June, but it officially began airing on July 16th, 2021. It will have a total of 12 episodes. If you’re new to the Sonny Boy anime, you can watch the original trailer below:
