“Spice and Wolf” anime hints a new project. According to the anime’s official website, they opened a new Twitter account for its 15th Anniversary. Moreover, it says that the account will provide the latest information for the anime series. It will also announce some new events. Check the promotional tweet of the new account below:
The tweet features some merchandise of the anime’s characters, as well as the protagonists from its sequel, “Wolf and Parchment”. In addition, it also says that Spice and Wolf will develop a special project to celebrate its 15th anniversary.
In case you didn’t know, “Spice and Wolf” is a Japanese light novel series by Isuna Hasekura. ASCII Media Works started publishing it in February 2006 until January 2019. The novel has a total of 22 volumes. It also has a sequel titled “Wolf and Parchment”, which currently has 5 volumes.
The same publisher debuted a manga adaptation in Dengeki Maoh magazine, first published September 2007. The manga ended in December 2017 with a total of 16 volumes.
Also, an anime adaptation of it premiered during the Winter 2008 anime season with a total 13 episodes. It also had an OVA which aired in May 2008. Afterwards, it was followed by another OVA that aired April 2009. Lastly, a sequel of the series, titled “Spice and Wolf II” aired in Summer 2009 with a total of 12 episodes.
Lawrence, a traveling merchant searching for profit, finds a naked girl with the ears and tail of a wolf asleep in his cart. Her name is Holo, a harvest goddess with an untamed beast lurking inside who longs to return to her beloved northern home.
Armed with his street smarts and her animal instincts, the simple peddler and forgotten deity begin a journey through the wild countryside. Along their path, the riches of happiness shall be reaped even as the bankruptcy which dwells in the human heart is exposed.
