Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf Reveals Theme Song Details

The upcoming Spice and Wolf: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf anime has released details on its theme songs. Hana Hope will be performing the opening theme titled “Tabi no Yukue (The Journey’s Destination)” while ClariS will perform the ending theme titled “Andante.” Following its second teaser video, the anime’s full trailer is set to be released on March 21 at 19:00 JST, and will also be featuring its theme songs. The reboot will premiere this April 1.

Studio Passione is animating the series under the chief direction of Takeo Takahashi, who also directed the original series. Hijiri Sanpei is directing, while Kevin Penkin is composing the music. The voice actors for the main characters are returning: Ami Koshimizu and Jun Fukuyama as Holo and Lawrence, and Mai Nakahara as Norah.

Crunchyroll will be streaming the upcoming Spice and Wolf reboot, describing the plot as:
Lawrence is a traveling merchant selling various goods from a horse-drawn cart. One day, he arrives at a village and meets a beautiful girl with the ears and tail of an animal! Her name is Holo the Wisewolf and she brings bountiful harvests. She wishes to return to her homeland, and Lawrence offers to take her. Now, the once-lonely merchant and the once-lonely wisewolf begin their journey north.

Spice and Wolf reboot anime – March Visual

Spice and Wolf is based on a light novel series by Isuna Hasekura and illustrated by Ju Ayakura. It has been serialized by ASCII Media Works since February 2006 under its Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation illustrated by Keito Koume began serialization in the November 2007 issue of ASCII Media Works’s Dengeki Maoh. The series also sprang a spin-off series titled Wolf and Parchment which has been serialized since September 2016.

The original Spice and Wolf anime aired for two seasons: the first season was animated by Imagin and it ran from January to March 2008; the second season was animated by Brain’s Base and Marvy Jack, and it ran from July to September 2009. Details of the anime’s reboot were first announced in February 2022.
