Summer Time Rendering anime revealed a preview for episode 21 which is titled “Ajiro Shinpei’s Longest Day” – set to air on September 1 (Thursday). The episode will focus on Shinpei’s search for a solution, after some pretty dark moments that occurred in the previous episode. OLM-animated series is streaming on Disney+ and will have a total of 25 episodes.
The plot of the upcoming episode is described as (spoilers ahead):
Seido Hishigata appears before Shinpei, who is in despair over Hizuru’s death. In the course of his conversation with Seido, Shinpei learns a new clue about Shide. There is a possibility that Shide had kept his own corpse as a spare body.
Furthermore, Shinpei recalls that on the day of the Hitogashima Summer Festival – July 24th – Ushio, who still knows nothing about what happened, will return. There are signs of Ushio’s resurrection, but Heine and Karikiri are also trying to capture Shin.

Summer Time Rendering is based on a suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shonen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021.
The manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. The plot is described as:
Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?
