Summer Time Rendering revealed a preview for episode 17, which is titled “Decision“. The anime still hasn’t had its official worldwide premiere, although the 16th episode aired in Japan last week. The anime is a Disney+ exclusive and is only available in certain regions outside of Japan.
The official website describes the plot of the episode as:
After hearing about the Shide’s true identity from Sekido Hishigata, So’s father and director of the Hishigata Clinic, the group takes a brief rest at the clinic.
The next morning, Shinpei and Ushio attempt to exterminate the shadows lurking on the island, following the signs of their activity. Although shadows attack them, they manage to save children who were in danger. Shinpei then heads out to look for Hiruko-sama, in the place where it all began – the shrine.
Summer Time Rendering is based on a suspense-mystery manga by Yasuki Tanaka. Shonen Jump+ online magazine serialized it from 2017 to 2021.
The manga is available on Shueisha’s MANGA Plus platform. The plot is described as:
Upon hearing of Ushio’s death, Shinpei returns to his hometown of Wakayama City on Hitogashima and reunites with his childhood friend’s family. The funeral goes smoothly, but under the surface something strange is brewing on the island. What mysteries await him on this secluded summer island?
