The official Twitter account announced that Sword Art Online: Progressive is coming in 2021! It will be a theatrical version and it’s unknown whether it will be a single movie or a number of them. The official tweet:

So Kirito and Asuna voice actors will be back. It will also be done by the same studio, A-1 Pictures and it’s nice to see more of the cast returning. Sword Art Online: Progressive is an anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara’s light novel of the same name. Its story expands upon the Aincrad Arc of the main series, and focuses more on Asuna. The news was released before, but it has now been officially confirmed that it will not be a TV anime. The franchise just recently finished the Alicization arc anime, and fans are excited for more.
