The recent episodes of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” have been absolutely awesome — especially episode 46! One after another, Rimuru’s army has been winning while Clayman’s armies face a hard defeat. It sort of makes you feel sorry for him a bit, but not really. The episodes are really full of hype and it’s all very exciting!
I am so happy with the pace we have now, and I can’t wait to see all the mysteries and problems unfold. Will Clayman get the beating he deserves? Is Milim really under mind-control? How will Walpurgis go? One thing is for sure — Clayman is going down!
In episode 43 “The Signal to Begin the Banquet,” we got to see how awesome Geld and Benimaru’s tactics were in ambushing the enemy. This gives Rimuru’s army the clear advantage right away! It’s really so cool to see them all in action again — Gobta, Gabiru, Geld, Benimaru, and the three Beasketeers.
The battle scenes are all spread out, but they go at an entertaining pace. Father Middray’s character is very interesting, and I can’t help but wonder how he spars with Milim? The clowns also have their fascinating bits, and it’s very intriguing.
Personally, Yamza’s screentime in the fight was very underwhelming. On the other hand, however, I live for Albis’ moments — that strength, grace, and beauty! (Also, Gobta was a fun spectator.) When Benimaru comes in to join, that was definitely my favorite part. Episode 44 titled “On This Land Where It All Happened,” was a nice episode to see everyone’s new strength!
Honestly, the most surprising to see was the Oni princess, Shuna in Slime episode 45, titled “Adalman, the Index Finger.” The episode focused on Shuna, and well, she’s not the same princess that needs protection anymore. Shuna is in fact a powerful mage now! It makes me realize how she’s always been by Rimuru’s side helping Tempest as a growing nation. This time, however, she’s away from Rimuru, and demonstrates this scary, serious, even taunting side as she faces the enemy.
I’m glad we have this episode for Shuna. She’s very precious and cute. Needless to say, her episode was an absolute thrill. Everything was very cool to watch. Everyone in the battle displayed true strength and character. It’s quite emotional to think that they’ve gone this far already after facing such a dramatic tragedy last season. That’s why it’s so satisfying to finally see their payback time!
Lastly, the animation and art have been so beautifully sharp and crisp. It even became more vibrant in episode 46 titled “Demon Lords’ Banquet ~Walpurgis~.” Honestly, Rimuru’s drawing is just superb in this episode. (Chef’s kiss!) Plus, I’m really fangirling about how cool the demon lord clothes look on him.
You’d think that Clayman was a smart and manipulative mastermind after all his mess with Rimuru. But with all his recent appearances, “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” episode 46 especially, we can gather that he is just a proud, cowardly, and arrogant person. His mind is so greedy and, in a hurry for power and revenge, everything he does is becoming senseless.
Wasn’t it pathetic that Clayman’s arguments were so manipulative yet weak without any evidence? Did he think that hitting Milim in front of the Demon Lords (Guy especially) would display his strength? I didn’t think so. Clayman is too annoying for his own good. His own arrogance will surely be the death of him! Unless he can actually fight for himself, then goodbye Clayman. All of your companions are already gone.
Another interesting thing from this episode is how Guy observes and reacts to this whole situation. Unlike Rimuru, he seems to have caught on that Milim is not under any mind-control. In addition, he doesn’t even interfere because he respects Milim. I really like the friendship between Guy, Ramiris, and Milim, you know?
Although his aura was authoritative and powerful, it was nice to see his soft spot for Ramiris. I loved how the fairy said that she had wonderful friends and that Rimuru is one of them. For that, Guy allowed Beretta to go inside the barrier.
The best part of “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” episode 46? When Shion pounds Clayman with her punches, of course! Absolutely satisfying. It’s also very cute how she did it first and then asked after. It’s very… Shion. Ha-ha! The movements in this episode are fluid and nice to watch, especially during the Rimuru VS Milim part. However, that cliffhanger did catch me by surprise and it really gave me a good laugh.
There is no denying that these past episodes were an absolute bomb one after another. As I’ve said, I’m really happy with the pace we have now, and I know that it’s going to get even better when we see Clayman’s collapse. It’s so exciting!
Episode 47 is titled “Returning from the Brink” airs on Tuesday, Septemer 14 at 11:00 PM (JST). It will also be available to watch on Crunchyroll and Muse Asia in select regions.
