The anime film adaptation of Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san (The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store) has revealed the first trailer for the film, along with the cast. Pre-sale tickets will be available in Japan on June 16th, with a limited edition collectible available for purchase. Natsumi Kawaida, best known for her role as Asumi Yuki in Higehiro will star as Akino, while Takeo Otsuka (Aquamarine Hoshino in Oshi no Ko) will voice Elle the Dodo. The film will be produced by Production I.G., best known for their work on Ghost in the Shell and Psycho-Pass. The cast for the film has been announced below:
The official site for the film describes the synopsis as:
Akino started working at the “Hokkyoku Department Store” as a new concierge. The department store is a mysterious place where all the customers are animals. Akino is determined to become a full-fledged concierge, but she struggles to become one under the watchful eye of the floor manager and senior concierges, with all kinds of problems appearing before her. Among them are “V.I.A.” (Very Important Animals), an extinct species, a unique group of customers who have their own unique characteristics.
Hokkyoku Hyakkaten no Concierge-san (The Concierge at Hokkyoku Department Store) is based on Tsuchika Nishimura’s manga series, which was serialized in Shogakukan’s Big Comic Zokan from February 2017 to November 2018. It won an Excellence Award at the 25th Japan Media Arts Festival 2022.
Tickets will be available on sale from June 16th across Japan, with a limited edition A6 clear file available for purchase.
An international release window for the film has not yet been announced.
