The previously teased English dub for the Rascal Does Not Dream anime series was an error, according to a statement by Aniplex of America. The label on the Blu-ray edition of the first season and the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl movie, released on November 14 of this year, “mistakenly lists” the English audio, even though the disc doesn’t feature one. Aniplex asks buyers to contact Crunchyroll support if they have questions or concerns regarding the purchase. Those who bought the release at Anime NYC should contact Aniplex directly:
We reached out to Aniplex of America for comment regarding the possibility of an English dub for the Rascal Does Not Dream anime series. Prior to the official statement, fans who bought the Blu-ray release spoke up about the lack of the dubbed option on Twitter/X.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai (Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai) is based on a Japanese light novel series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keji Mizoguchi. The series received a 13-episode anime adaptation by studio CloverWorks, as well as the aforementioned sequel movie titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl. Another sequel movie, titled Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, premiered in June of this year while the Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid movie followed in December. The anime series will be continuing with the recently announced adaptation of the University Arc.
