On November 6, 2021, the official Twitter for Tonikaku Kawaii announced that season 2 of the anime adaptation is in the works. The announcement was made on during a scheduled YouTube stream on the Warner Bros. Japan Anime channel. As of now, the premiere date is unknown. During the stream, a “new episode” was also announced.

Tonikaku Kawaii is a manga series by Kenjirou Hata. Shogakukan has been publishing it since February 2018 in their Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine. The manga is still ongoing and, as of now, has 16 volumes. Kenjirou Hata’s work received a 12-episode-long anime adaptation in the Fall 2020 season, followed by an OVA episode that premiered on August 18, 2021.
