The Fall 2021 anime season is still a long way off, however, certain titles are already getting delayed due to various reasons, but mainly production issues. Some of these were long-anticipated and sadly fans will have to wait a bit longer to see them.
The Summer 2021 season only had 3 delayed titles, so here’s hoping that the upcoming season follows a similar suit. Below you will find a full list of Fall 2021 delayed anime, alongside new release dates and additional information.
New release date: April 2022
The Rising of the Shield Hero season 2 was one of the most anticipated Fall 2021 titles. Sadly, we will have to wait until April 2022 to see more of Naofumi and Raphtalia’s adventures. A PV isn’t available, but we do have a key visual.
If you aren’t familiar with the Shield Hero series, you can watch season 1 (both subbed and dubbed) on Crunchyroll. They describe the plot as:
Iwatani Naofumi, a run-of-the-mill otaku, finds a book in the library that summons him to another world. He is tasked with joining the sword, spear, and bow as one of the Four Cardinal Heroes and fighting the Waves of Catastrophe as the Shield Hero. Excited by the prospect of a grand adventure, Naofumi sets off with his party. However, merely a few days later, he is betrayed and loses all his money, dignity, and respect. Unable to trust anyone anymore, he employs a slave named Raphtalia and takes on the Waves and the world. But will he really find a way to overturn this desperate situation?

New release date: 2022
The fourth season of Date a Live was scheduled to premiere this fall but has been delayed to 2022. Fans of the harem Sci-Fi romance will have to wait a bit longer to see more of Shido’s adventures. Studio Geek Toys is animating the series.
YenPress licensed the light novel the anime is based on and describes the plot as:
A little meet-cute in a decimated city
April 10. The first day of school. Shido Itsuka is rudely awoken by his personal alarm clock—his little sister. It’s shaping up to be another typical day…well, as typical as it gets on a planet plagued by massive spatial quakes. Little does Shido know, however, his life is about to take a sudden turn when he encounters the source of this destructive phenomenon—a girl his age, apparently known as a Spirit. Turns out, there are only two ways he can stop her from unleashing hell on the world: Eliminate her by force or placate her…by taking her out on a date and making her fall in love with him!

New release date: Winter 2022
Fans of shojo historical stories will have to wait until Winter 2022 season for the newest anime from J.C. Staff. The official Twitter account for the series apologized for the delay and promised that the staff is doing their best to make a good final product.
Viz licensed the manga in English and describes the plot as:
Richard’s father, the patriarch of the House of York, is poised to become king of medieval England during the bloody Wars of the Roses. But just as success is imminent, he is abruptly cut down. Plunged into despair, Richard acts out in revenge and must face a powerful and beautiful new enemy.

New release date: 2022
Netflix’s Spriggan adaptation was supposed to air in 2021. However, we never got a proper release date. David Productions (Jojo’s Bizzare Adventure) is animating the series. The delay will give the studio more time to improve the animation quality, according to the statement on the official website. While you wait for the anime to release, maybe check out the 1998 Spriggan movie by Studio 4°C.
Netflix describes the plot as:
An ancient alien civilization’s relics on Earth hold dangerous powers. The ARCAM corporation’s Spriggan agents must keep them out of the wrong hands.
