Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth anime received a new trailer that includes the opening song “Hito Nanda” by Aquaplus’ vocalist Suara. The anime will premiere on July 2 of this year.
Studio Link is animating the series, with Kenichi Kawamura directing it. Masahiko Nakada will do the character designs, as well as being listed as chief animation director. In addition, Itsuki Yokoyama is overseeing series composition. The main cast for the series include Chinatsu Akasaki as Anju, Risa Taneda as Kuon, Inori Minase as Nekone, and Kentaro Tone as Oshutoru.

Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth is based on a video game by Aquaplus. Studio White Fox animated the Utawarerumono: The False Faces anime, which aired throughout the fall 2015 and winter 2016 seasons and had 25 episodes. The first anime in the franchise was by Studio OLM and aired in Spring 2006. A three-episode OVA aired from 2009 to 2010 and focused on side stories from the game.
