The anime is based on Kouta Amana’s Kinsou no Vermeil: Gakeppuchi Majutsushi wa Saikyou no Yakusai to Maho Sekai o Tsukisusumu (Vermeil in Gold) manga series. Square Enix has been publishing it with Yoko Umezu as the illustrator in Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine since 2018, and it currently has 6 volumes available.
