Viz Media is licensing the three Demon Slayer light novels this fall. The Flower of Happiness, One-Winged Butterfly, and Signs From the Wind are getting official English translation, allowing fans of the original series to enjoy the Demon Slayer universe once again. The light novels were originally published in Jump J Books. Aya Yajima wrote all 3 and each one featured illustrations by Koyoharu Gotouge.
The Flower of Happiness (Shiawase no Hana) consists of 5 chapters and was published in 2019. Each of the 5 chapters has a different story and takes place during a different time period.
The second light novel from the Demon Slayer universe has 6 chapters and was also written by Aya Yajima, with Koyoharu Gotouge’s illustrations. Two out of 6 chapters focus on Shinobu. Tengen Uzui, Genya, and Giyu also make appearances, along with Tanjiro and Zenitsu. The Japanese title for the work is Katahane no Chou.
Signs From the Wind, or Kaze no Michishirube, features 5 chapters that mainly focus on the Wind Hashira – Sanemi Shinazugawa. Aya Yajima wrote the light novel, which was first published in 2020.
Demon Slayer light novels aren’t all that Viz Media is offering to shonen fans this year. The Shonen Jump Guide to Making Manga, featuring commentary from Eiichiro Oda, Tite Kubo, Kohei Horikoshi, and more is also coming in the fall.
