Whisper Me a Love Song Reveals Vocal Artists for Band Rivals

The girls’ love Whisper Me a Love Song anime revealed the vocal artists of characters Yori Asanagi and Shiho Izumi during the second day of Anime Japan 2023. Kana Sasakura is in charge of Yori Asanagi while Sui Mizukami is performing as the vocal artist of Shiho Izumi and both vocal artists showcased their talents during the special stage of Whisper Me a Love Song in Anime Japan. Both mentioned characters are the vocalist of their respective bands “SSGIRLS” and “Lorelei” in the series.

The series also opened a TikTok account, which currently has the teaser trailer posted. The anime is slated to premiere in January 2024.

 Xin Ya Cai is directing the series at the studio Cloud Hearts with scripts written by Hiroki Uchida. Minami Yoshida is adapting character designs from the manga. The cast of the series includes:

  • Hana Shimano as Himari Kino
  • Asami Seto as Yori Asanagi
  • Mikako Komatsu as Aki Mizuguchi
  • Konomi Kohara as Mari Tsuitsui
  • Ai Kakuma as Kaori Tachibana
  • Yuna Nemoto as Shiho Izumi

The TV anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Eku Takeshima which was initially serialized in Ichijinsha’s Comic Yuri Hime in 2019. Kodansha Comics is licensing the manga in English they described the first volume as follows:
Bubbly, energetic first-year high school student Himari falls head over heels for her senpai Yori after hearing her band perform on the first day of school. Himari tells Yori she just loves her, and, to Himari’s surprise, Yori says she loves Himari back! But when Himari realizes that she and her senpai are feeling two different kinds of love, she begins to ask herself what “love” really means
