Season 5 of the Yowamushi Pedal anime, titled LIMIT BREAK, has received an October 9 premiere date via the franchise’s official Twitter account. This is coming over 4 years since the fourth season, which ended in June 2018. You can see the official announcement below:

Osamu Nabeshima is returning to direct the latest sequel, having previously directed all 4 TV anime seasons, as well as the movies Yowamushi Pedal Re:RIDE, Yowamushi Pedal Re: ROAD, Yowamushi Pedal: Spare Bike and Yowamushi Pedal: Re:GENERATION.
Wataru Watanabe writes and draws the Yowamushi Pedal sports manga, which won the Best Shonen Manga award at 39th Kodansha Manga Awards along with The Seven Deadly Sins by Nakaba Suzuki. It began serialization in 2008 and has 78 compilation volumes as of June 2022. The first season TV anime season premiered in 2013 and has a total of 38 episodes. It was produced by TMS Entertainment, who also produced the second season and co-produced the third and fourth with 8PAN. Crunchyroll streams the anime, and they describe the story:
Onoda Sakamichi is a rather timid, anime-loving first-year student at Sohoku High School. Upon entering high school, he tried to join the anime research club, but after meeting Imaizumi Shunsuke, a renowned cyclist since middle school, and Naruko Shoukichi, who swept the Kansai cycling championship, he ended up joining the competitive cycling club.
