86 Eighty Six Episode 3: The Heavy Burden of Handling an Ace Squadron

86 Eighty Six episode 3 is highly-anticipated. The previous episode ended in a calming environment wherein Lena was doing her daily routine as the handler of the Spearhead Squadron. However, we are teased on what’s going to happen in 86 Eighty Six episode 3: “I don’t want to die.” Does it have something to do with the burdens of being the handler of the Spearhead Squadron?

First, let’s check out some of the events from 86 Eighty Six episode 3. The Spearhead Squadron was having a normal day. The girls were out washing their clothes, while the boys were cooking and doing some chores. They realized that the girls are taking too much time, so they came into the conclusion that their friends are bathing in the river. Suddenly, the boys thought of something nasty.

As you can see from the images above, the boys committed a grave sin: Peeking at the girls who are having fun. All in all, it seems that they were just having a normal day.

The Handler and Her Unit

Kirschblüte is about to say something serious to Lena
Lena, as she does her daily routine as a handler

As Lena is doing her routine as the handler of 86’s ace unit, she heard a large noise on the squadron’s side and panicked. It seems that something happened in her subordinates’ location. She asked them what has occurred, but Undertaker didn’t tell her what really happened and pretended that they are alright.

Thanks to that, Lena continued to cheerfully talk to them. There, Kirschblute, one of the members of the unit said a really important thing to her, it was related to her fate as being their handler. She said it because she thinks that Lena is a good person and she must not experienced that fate. What is the fate of being the Spearhead Squadron’s handler?

Lena being Handler 1

Two days later, the handler and her unit will be fighting again some Legions. In case you didn’t know, Legion is the term for their enemies. To ensure a higher success rate of their mission without having any casualties, Lena searched for an old map of the terrain where the 86 are fighting. She used the map to help her comrades find a safer position when they are in battle.

However, Something terrible happened on battlefield that they didn’t expect. It has something to do with the terrain. The whole team and their handler fell into despair. Lena blamed herself because of what happened since she was the unit’s handler. She thinks that it occurred because she didn’t found the map sooner.

86 Eighty Six Episode 3 is a very sad one because of what happened to the eldest member of the squadron. We feel sad for Lena because even when she is doing her best to be a good handler, she cannot escape the burden that is associated with the role.

To know more details about what happened between Lena and her unit before their battle, you can watch the episode on Crunchyroll. Also, if the heavy happenings in the episode caught your heart, you can vote it on our weekly poll!

Synopsis

A War Without Casualties. The Republic of San Magnolia has long been under attack from the neighboring Giadian Empire’s army of unmanned drones known as the Legion. After years of painstaking research, the Republic finally developed autonomous drones of their own, turning the one-sided struggle into a war without casualties-or at least, that’s what the government claims.

In truth, there is no such thing as a bloodless war. Beyond the fortified walls protecting the eighty-five Republic territories lies the “nonexistent” Eighty-Sixth Sector. The young men and women of this forsaken land are branded the Eighty-Six and, stripped of their humanity, pilot the “unmanned” weapons into battle…
