After-School Hanako-kun, the Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun spin-off, unveiled a new trailer ahead of its premiere this October 10. Studio Lerche will be animating the adaptation, which will be composed of short episodes. Crunchyroll is streaming it.
The anime spin-off follows the new Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun project announcement from last year. Masaki Kitamura will serve as the director, while Kazuma Nagatomo will be in charge of the series composition. Aya Higami is the series’ chief animation director and character designer, and Hiroshi Takaki is composing the music. The cast members are returning from the original series and include Megumi Ogata as Hanako-kun, Akari Kito as Nene Yashiro, and Shoya Chiba as Ko Minamoto.
The anime is based on a manga by AidaIro. Yen Press describes the plot as:
“Hanako-san, Hanako-san… are you there?” At Kamome Academy, rumors abound about the school’s Seven Mysteries, one of which is Hanako-san. Said to occupy the third stall of the third floor girls’ bathroom in the old school building, Hanako-san grants any wish when summoned. Nene Yashiro, an occult-loving high school girl who dreams of romance, ventures into this haunted bathroom… but the Hanako-san she meets there is nothing like she imagined! Kamome Academy’s Hanako-san… is a boy!
The After-School Hanako-kun spin-off manga began serialization in 2018.
