Akebi’s Sailor Uniform episode 10 sees Akebi cheer her way all around campus. Donning her gym clothes and some pompoms, she tries to attend every sports training session she can, inspiring a few people along the way. Let’s talk about what went down this week in a spoiler-filled discussion!
With her pompoms in hand, Akebi kicks off Akebi’s Sailor Uniform episode 10 by heading to the table tennis section of the school. There, they attempt to cheer on their friends, when Tougeguchi reveals to them that they’re doing the whole cheerleading thing wrong.
Hearing Tougeguchi’s words makes Akebi reflect on this, she admits that she hadn’t really given too much thought to how to do the whole cheerleading thing. She tries to correct this by immediately doing a difficult move, getting ready to hoist one of her co-cheerleaders up. However, Tougeguchi insists that Akebi and friends start by trying something simple. She then demonstrates a number of simple cheerleading moves that Akebi learns quickly.
It’s after this that Akebi and the cheerleading squad manage to find some success. While visiting their other friends in the other sports practices, they manage to instill some vigor in their performances through their cheers. It’s a lovely sight to see and that’s how Akebi’s journey in the episode begins!
Akebi’s Sailor Uniform episode 10 also sheds some light on the story of Riona Shijou. She and Erika head to the tennis court, where it’s revealed that Shijou has a history of playing tennis. However, something seems off.
It’s later revealed that Shijou harbors very intense insecurities about her body. She has developed a bit faster than the other girls in her age, resulting in her not feeling comfortable in her own skin. This is compounded by the fact that she hasn’t played tennis in two years, resulting in her being a bit rusty at the sport. She also gazes upon Akebi’s slender body in envy.
However, when Akebi eggs Shijou on to try cheerleading, she is inspired by the way Akebi carries herself. She gets a glimpse of how she appears in their first cheerleading run and forces herself to step out of her comfort zone. This brave step leads Shijou to perform well in cheerleading, syncing up with Akebi’s moves perfectly, and allows her to find her groove once again in the game of tennis. It’s yet another heartwarming conclusion to the story of one of the girls.
Akebi’s Sailor Uniform episode 10 ends with Akebi telling a friend about all the fun she had in the training sessions that day. In response, the friend offers to make Akebi happier. She hands Akebi a piece of paper and when Akebi sees what’s written on it, her eyes nearly pop out of her head.
What did she see? What could possibly have gotten Akebi to react that way? Only time will tell, as this remains a mystery for viewers, at least for this week. Hopefully, we get some answers next week, when Akebi’s adventures resume!
