Anime Japan 2021 Will Take Place Online, Will Include an English Channel for Overseas Fans

One of the biggest anime events of the year, Anime Japan 2021, will take place online next weekend (March 27-28) and also feature an English channel for the first time! The special channel for overseas fans will be done with collaboration of Anime Festival Asia (AFA). It will include introductions of programs and comments on the streams live in English, and 45 programs will be available. The event will be streamed to a total of seven countries and regions outside Japan. They are: US, Korea, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

The event always features stages and programs from many big industry names. So there will be news and announcements for many popular shows, such as Attack on Titan, Sword Art Online, Re:Zero, among many others. In addition, there will also be new information about new upcoming shows. We can expect something for Record of Ragnarok, The Way of the Househusband, The Genius Prince’s Guide to Raising a Nation Out of Debt, among others. Of course, those are just a few titles, and there will surely be way more.

Regarding tickets, they cost 3,200 yen (~$30USD) for 1 day, or 6,100 yen (~$56USD) for a two-day ticket for overseas fans. They have been on sale since March 1, and you can buy them up to the event’s date on the official site. Additionally, you can follow the official Twitter account for any updates, and there’s a separate account in English too.

Anime Japan 2021 will be huge, and it’s awesome that we can also watch it in English this year! It will be the first since 2019 since the event was cancelled last year. (Due to the outbreak of COVID-19.) There’s a ton of possible announcements, and we’ll also be posting the news some time after, so stay tuned.
