Ash Ketchum's JP Voice Actress Rica Matsumoto Performs Pokémon Theme Song on The First Take

Rica Matsumoto, the Japanese voice actress of Ash Ketchum in the Pokémon series performed the song “Mezase Pokémon Master -with my friends-” on the YouTube channel THE FIRST TAKE. The said song is the latest rearrangement of the first opening theme of the Japanese original series Pokémon. It was rearranged for the Pokémon: Mezase Pokemon Master anime, which is the final chapter of the story of the iconic duo, Ash and Pikachu. The final episode of the series is set to premiere on March 24.

Rica Matsumoto is a Japanese voice actress who is famous for voicing Satoshi (Ash Ketchum in English) in the popular franchise Pokémon. She also voiced Gon Freecs in the pilot episode of Hunter x Hunter that aired in 1998 and Ryo Bakura and Yami Bakura in the Yu☆Gi☆Oh! franchise. Aside from being a voice actress, she is one of the founding members of the anisong band JAM Project. The band consisting of various musicians and artists focuses on delivering several anime, live-action films, and video game theme songs.

THE FIRST TAKE is a YouTube channel that shows various artists performing in one take. The channel has only one rule and that is artists need to perform their hearts out in a single take. Some of the artists who performed previously on the channel are ReoNa, LiSAAimerMasayuki SuzukiSora Amamiya, Hoshimachi Suisei, and Creepy Nuts.
