Bilibili Comics Service to Shut Down on February 29

Bilibili Comics service is shutting down on February 29 following a change in “strategic direction.” The service will cease to operate at 14:00h (2 pm) Singapore time, after which digital content, including comics will no longer be available. Starting today, new signups have been disabled and existing users are no longer able to access the comic coin top-up.

The announcement, published on the official Bilibili Comics website, advises users to spend all their coins by February 29 but refunds are also available for those who would prefer that option. Users can also terminate their accounts and request copies of their data. The statement, posted on the official website, also states:
Before closing our server, we will continue to handle your queries and requests. If you have unresolved problems, please send an email to contact@bilibilicomics.com and for your reference, we will cease to receive and handle emails on July 29, 2024.
Once again, we are very grateful for your support of Bilibili Comics.

The Bilibili Comics website and app were launched in 2021. They featured official English translations of titles such as Heaven Official’s Blessing, I’m Just a Side Character in a Dating Simulation, My Young Lady Is a NEET, and more. Although initially launched as a free service, the platform soon adopted the coin top-up system: some chapters were free, while others could be unlocked with a certain amount of coins (the website currency that could be bought). In July of 2022, Bilibili Comics announced a partnership with Anime-Planrt.
