The BL manga Cherry Magic is getting an anime adaptation. As part of the announcement, a teaser visual and information on the main cast have been released.
Studio Satelight (Log Horizon, Macross Delta, Helck) is animating the series under the direction of Yoshiko Okuda. Meanwhile, Tomoko Konparu is doing the script. The main cast includes Chiaki Kobayashi (Mashle, SK8 The Infinity, Moriarty the Patriot) as Kiyoshi Adachi and Ryota Suzuki (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Sabikui Bisco, Blue Lock) as Yuichi Kurosawa.
The manga, with the full title Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! is written and illustrated by Yuu Toyota. It has been serialized digitally on Gangan Pixiv since September 2018. It received a live-action television series adaptation, which aired for twelve episodes from October to December 2020. Toyota also released a commemorative illustration for the anime adaptation announcement.
Square Enix has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as:
It’s complicated: A thirty-year-old virgin gets more than he bargained for when his newfound magical power reveals he’s the object of his male coworker’s affections! Adachi, a thirty-year-old virgin, has developed the power to read people’s minds by touching them. After a brush with his very handsome colleague, Adachi realizes the guy has a raging crush on none other than Adachi himself!
