Call of the Night manga’s author Kotoyama posted an illustration of Akira Asai on Tuesday to inform his followers of the upcoming release of the manga’s next, 14th, volume. The release date is set for December 16, 2022.
Akira Asai is the protagonist Ko Yamori’s childhood friend and classmate. The visual post came with a caption “Call of the Night’s new volume is coming.” The illustration shows the character in her school uniform, putting on or taking off her jacket. The text in the picture reads “Call of the Night Volume 14 is out around December 16 (Fri.). I hope you check it.“
The new volume also features the character on the cover.

Kotoyama has been running the Call of the Night series in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday since August 2019. The series released its thirteenth volume on September 15, 2022. The manga was named after Creepy Nuts’ song of the same name, “Yofukashi no Uta” in Japanese. The band performed both the opening and ending songs titled “Daten” and “Yofukashi no Uta” respectively in the anime adaptation, which aired from July to September 2022 with a total of 13 episodes animated by LIDENFILMS.
