Chainsaw Man Anime Casts Voice Actress Shiori Izawa as Pochita

Shiori Izawa is joining the Chainsaw Man anime as the voice actress of Pochita, the cute Chainsaw Devil Denji will be meeting early on in the story. Besides the voice actress news, a new trailer for the anime was revealed, as well as information about the 12 different theme songs and more cast additions. You can watch the new trailer:

Some of the voice actress’ most popular roles include Nanachi in Made in Abyss, Matsuri Mizusawa in Citrus, Adenela in Cautious Hero, Argo in Sword Art Online and Sakura in Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. Besides Shiori Izawa as Pochita, more voice actors for the Chainsaw Man anime have been revealed. They are:

  • Tsuda Kenjiro as Kishibe
  • Karin Takahashi as Kobeni Higashiyama
  • Taku Yashiro as Hirokazu Arai
  • Mariya Ise as Himeno

Tatsuki Fujimoto first started the Chainsaw Man manga in 2018, and part 1 ended in 2020 with a total of 97 chapters and 11 volumes. Part 2, which is focusing on Denji’s school life, began on July 12 this year, and has released 7 chapters so far. Viz Media licensed the manga in English, while the TV anime adaptation by MAPPA will premiere on October 11. Crunchyroll will stream it, and they describe the story:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. 
One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man”–a man with a devil’s heart.
