MAPPA has revealed the second commemorative key visual for its upcoming 15th anniversary presentation, featuring Attack on Titan with a new illustration created exclusively for the event. The previous visual featured Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc.
The artwork serves as the second entry in a three-part “MAPPA 15th Anniversary Key Visual” project, with one more additional visual scheduled to be revealed ahead of the event on June 19. The illustration was specially drawn by Tomohoro Kishi, with the layout by Yuichiro Hayashi, digital paint by Iku Onishi, and composition by Yusuke Tannawa.
MAPPA announced its 15th anniversary project earlier this month, with the plan to share new information on its upcoming projects. Founded in 2011, the studio has been in charge of animating numerous hit titles including Chainsaw Man, Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season, Hell’s Paradise, Yuri on Ice, and Vinland Saga.
The presentation will include new information related to Chainsaw Man and Dorohedoro, as well as for numerous others. The production of Chainsaw Man International Assassins Arc and Dorohedoro Season 3 was previously confirmed. JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 4, titled the Culling Game Arc Part 2, is also in production.
The event also includes segments dedicated to Jujutsu Kaisen, Attack on Titan Final Season, Oblivion Battery, and Ranma 1/2, with each one also having “new information” teased. A brand-new project by the studio will also be announced.
Hajime Isayama wrote and illustrated the Attack on Titan manga, which was serialized in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021. Its chapters were compiled into 34 volumes. The TV anime adaptation was animated by WIT Studio for the first 3 seasons, after which MAPPA took over. The anime ran for a total of 94 episodes, with the final episodes (88-94) streamed as the two Final Chapters specials.
The Final Chapters were compiled into the THE LAST ATTACK movie with improved visuals and sound. It premiered in Japan on November 8 to mostly positive reviews, also introducing a new post-credit scene. The movie exceeded 1 billion yen in revenue on December 5, with international screenings starting in early 2025. Crunchyroll began streaming the movie on April 17, 2025.
Producer Tetsuya Kinoshita recently teased new upcoming projects for the anime, including the plans for new films and collaborations.
