Chainsaw Man has premiered episode 1 in Japan (an hour later for Crunchyroll release), and they’ve also released the first ending video with song “CHAINSAW BLOOD” by Vaundy. The anime was confirmed to have 12 different ending songs by 12 different artists for each of its episodes, and you can watch the first one:
The anime also released the opening video with song “KICK BACK” by Kenshi Yonezu. It also has 2 different Pochita emojis on Twitter, which appear when using specific hashtags. It was voted the most anticipated show of Fall 2022, and it will be interesting to see how it fares against the other hyped anime that premiered yesterday, BLEACH: Thousand-Year Blood War.
The episode 1 preview revealed its title to be “Dog and Chainsaw”. The synopsis:
A boy named Denji makes a living as a Devil Hunter.
He fulfils commissions from Yakuzas and lives a poor life with “Chainsaw Devil” named Pochita.
One day, Yakuza calls on Denji but he gets betrayed and killed.
While his consciousness fades away, he hears a voice.
Crunchyroll will stream the anime from today, and they describe the story:
Denji is a teenage boy living with a Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Due to the debt his father left behind, he has been living a rock-bottom life while repaying his debt by harvesting devil corpses with Pochita. One day, Denji is betrayed and killed. As his consciousness fades, he makes a contract with Pochita and gets revived as “Chainsaw Man”–a man with a devil’s heart.
