Dahlia in Bloom Anime Reveals New Trailer, Premieres July 2024

The Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools (Madougushi Dairya wa Utsumukanai: Kyou kara Jiyuu na Shokunin Raifu) anime series announced that it will premiere in July 2024. A new trailer featuring the opening theme song “Chiisana Tsubomi” by Nako Misako was also released. The ending theme song “Glitter” is performed by Marina Horiuchi.

Yousuke Kubo is making his TV anime series directing debut with Dahlia in Bloom while Yuichiro Higashide (16bit Sensation: Another Layer) is in charge of the series composition. Satomi Kurita (Peach Boy Riverside) is in charge of the character designs and Kou Ootani (Another) is compositing the music. The studios Typhoon Graphics (Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke’s Mansion) and Imagica Infos (debut series) are handling the animation production.

A new key visual and additional characters and cast members were also revealed. The key visual features Dahlia, Volfreas, and a young Dahlia surrounded by flowers and magical tools. Joining Saori Oonishi and Atsushi Tamaru, who voices Dahlia and Volfred, are:

  • Riho Iida (Rin Hosizora – Love Live!) as Iruma Nuvolari
  • Kenichirou Matsuda (Thors – Vinland Saga) as Marcella Nuvolari
  • Fuuka Izumi (Utena Hiiragi – Gushing Over Magical Girls) as Lucia Fano
  • Hiroki Takahashi (Takato Saijou – DAKAICHI) as Ivano Badoer
  • Yuriko Yamaguchi (Nico Robin – One Piece) as Gabriella Jedda
  • Tomohiro Ono (Makoto Shibe – Tomodachi Game) as Tobias Orlando

Dahlia in Bloom: Crafting a Fresh Start with Magical Tools is a light novel series written by Hisaya Amagishi and illustrated by Kei. Kodansha’s Media Factory began publishing the series in October 2018 and has since sold 3.2 million copies, physically and digitally. It currently has nine volumes. The series inspired two manga adaptations and a spin-off light novel series.

J-Novel Club licensed and published the first eight volumes of the light novel series in English. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed and published the manga adaptation in English. J-Novel Club summarized the series as:
Dahlia is reborn into a world filled with magic after dying from overwork. She was raised by a master of magical tool making and developed a passion for creating magical tools. She was engaged to her father’s apprentice, but before her father could see her married, he suddenly passed away. Not only that, on the day before their wedding, her fiancé announces that he’s in love with another woman! Dahlia realizes that she needs to live for herself and vows to be her own woman. She devoted herself to her craft of magical toolmaking, not expecting to get a life that is not so quite like she hoped! From a chance encounter with a knight to starting her own company, Dahlia is facing many challenges head-on. She’s Dahlia and she is ready to bloom!
