Delicious In Dungeon Episode 12 - Dragon Food

Delicious in Dungeon episode 12 was bar-none, the best episode so far as it has a bit for everyone. Whether you like gore, suspense, tearful moments, or fan service that doesn’t involve Senshi’s crotch, this time around, everything was 10/10.

Falin’s Back, Back With Black

As the Delicious in Dungeon part manages to dig part of Falin out of the dragon’s fuel sack the group realizes their rescue operation is far more complicated than they believed. Falin’s body is so destroyed that it can’t be transported to the office of Dungeon Revival. And due to the long trip to get where they are, the group can’t bring anyone down to save the day.

The resurrection process here works somewhat according to the law of equivalent exchange—to revive and piece back a body, the meat from other bodies is needed to patch a person together. Upon realizing that the best bet to bring Falin back depends on her being revived at her current location, Marcille reveals that she knows a particular kind of magic. The kind of magic that’s a no-no. Magic that’s the opposite of light magic, magic that’s forbidden. She knows how to use black magic. And with that, she can resurrect the pate that is Falin.

Senshi, being a magic Luddite, objects to black magic being used. But Marcille mentions that magic is neither good nor bad; it’s amoral. Which, honestly, can be argued for most things. With that, the party reassembles Falin’s skeleton to the best of their ability, and Marcille throws out some black magic mojo. And BAM! New Falin. Falin 2.0, if you will.

Hooray For Fanservice!

Once steady and back within her senses, Falin does the obvious thing and washes off the grime of the resurrection process. We at Anime Corner take the Kazuma Satou approach to life. We believe in true gender equality. So, when Senshi was popping panty-shots like fireworks on the 4th of July, we talked about it. And now that we have a hot elf and an imouto in a tub, we’ll talk about that. So, as Marcille gently washes and caresses Falin in the tub….moving on.

As the two continue to bathe and talk, Falin apologizes for all the trouble she has caused. Most of all, she’s remorseful that Marcille had to use black magic to bring her back. But Marcille is having none of it and she stands tall to show Falin her resolve. But she mostly just ends up showing her the yippie bog, leaving Falin amazed at Marcile’s inner beauty and at her outer beauty as well.

Delicious in Dungeon Episode 12: The Way Home and Dragon Dinners

As Delicious in Dungeon Episode 12 progresses, the celebratory feeling dies down. The party realizes that the journey is only halfway home. They need to get to the surface and now they’re even more rough for wear. As they discuss this and their current state of affairs, they realize that Senshi is about to get his BBQ on—and that’s problematic. The room in which the dragon is is full of flammable gas.

But their warning is too little, too late. As Senshi strikes a flint to start a fire, he turns the room into a broiler. But have no fear! Falin is here! And so is her newly acquired no-casting ability, which saves the party from any grievous harm. While grateful, Senshi laments that he won’t be able to use most of the meat due to the dragon burning. But ever resourceful. He uses the dragon’s carcass as a stove, and using the heated dragon scales as a grill, he prepares a full-course meal consisting of Dragon Tail Soup, Onion Pizza, and Roasted Red Dragon. A meal that would make Chef Germán Lucarelli weep with joy. For those wondering, you can cook on heated rocks. The gastronomy of several cultures and countries includes recipes that require this method. But, for most, it’s just a fun thing to do when camping.

Falin, picking up after her nee-san. Don’t hesitate to eat what may be potentially deadly but good-looking food. But as Chef Andrew Zimmern used to say, “If it looks good, eat it.” And to a newly revived Falin, everything there looks good. Falin was once eaten by a dragon, and now she’s eating that same dragon. The flow of life is less linear and more circular.

Delicious in Dungeon Episode 12 Wrap-Up

As Delicious in Dungeon episode 12 draws to a close. You get a feeling that it’s all going to be okay. Things are so laid-back that Marcille even has a moment to lament Falin’s joy at hearing that the party ate monsters.

As the group continues to talk and enjoy their meal, retelling the stories of all they ate. Chilchuck throws shade, and this makes Laios reveal he’s had a monster with them the entire time. Oh, that goofy Laios. But this blows over pretty quickly. In the end, as everyone shares some tender moments and lays down for bed, we’re lulled into a false sense of security. And then BOOM! A dark elf discovers the magical circle outside and sets up quite the cliffhanger for next week’s episode.
