Demon Slayer Casts Voice Actor Miyano Mamoru as Upper Moon Doma

Demon Slayer aired the finale of the Entertainment District Arc today with episode 11, and it was revealed that Miyano Mamoru was cast as the voice actor for the Upper Moon Doma! In the extended episode, we saw the demon’s introduction in a flash back, and Akaza was also shown. #Douma has been trending on Twitter ever since.

Some of Miyano Mamoru’s other notable roles are Yagami Light in Death Note, Okabe Rintaro in Steins;gate, Dazai Osamu in Bungo Stray Dogs, Death the Kid in Soul Eater, Lucilfer Chrollo in Hunter x Hunter, Shinmon Benimaru in Fire Force, among many more popular characters.

Episode 11 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Entertainment District Arc came after the mindblowing episode 10, which ranked 2nd behind Attack on Titan in the fifth week of Winter 2022. The 2 shows claimed over 40% of votes!

The next arc is the Swordsmith Village Arc, and it begins in volume 10 of the manga. An anime adaptation was already announced, and VIZ describes the story:

For the first time in over 100 years, the upper ranks of Muzan Kibutsuji’s Twelve Kizuki are not full. Angered, Muzan dispatches the survivors on another mission. Elsewhere, Tanjiro journeys to a village of swordsmiths and has to explain how his sword was so badly damaged to Haganezuka, the smith who made it. Fans of Demon Slayer have been predicting Miyano Mamoru as the perfect voice actor for Doma for a long time, and their predictions turned out to be accurate. The episode will release on Funimation and Crunchyroll later today.
