Elden Ring now officially has a manga, titled ELDEN RING: The Road to the Erdtree. Surprisingly, the plot is actually a gag comedy interpretation of the world the game is set in. Nikiichi Tobita is writing the story, which is based on a game by From Software. New chapters will be released every 4th and 19th of the month. It is currently being published in 12 languages:
Comic Walker describes the plot as:
Aseo, a poor, Tarnished wretch, finds himself cast out into Limgrave—naked, penniless, hopeless, and maidenless. His only hope in his harsh, unforgiving new home is a mysterious woman named Melina. She urges him to follow the guidance of grace to the Erdtree that looms over the Lands Between. But it won’t be an easy road; a cast of colorful characters awaits Aseo along the way—Patches the Untethered, Blaidd the Half-Wolf, Margit the Fell Omen, Godrick the Grafted, and of course, Ranni the Witch…With little but a loincloth between Aseo and certain death, he strikes out for the first stop on his quest: Stormveil Castle. Will he make it there, or will his journey end before it even begins?
The author behind the Elden Ring manga, Nikiichi Tobita, wrote and illustrated Monster x Monster, A Cursed Sword’s Daily Life, and Shinobi Gataki. Tobita also illustrated How I Stalked Some Dude with an Exposed Nipple and Stumbled Upon the Zenithian Sword.
FromSoftware’s dark fantasy game was released in February of this year. It features an open world in which the player aims to become a new Elden Lord by repairing the Elden Ring. It was directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and Yui Tanimura. Miyazaki also worked on the script, with A Song of Ice and Fire writer, George R. R. Martin. The Overture of ELDEN RING, which serves as sort of a guidebook for the players, was released earlier this year and published by Yen Press.
