The full version of the Ya Boy Kongming anime opening song “Ciki Ciki Bam Bam” by special unit QUEENDOM is finally out, to the delight of many fans who have been eagerly awaiting it. The song is available to stream and has also been uploaded to YouTube:
The TV-size version of the song was released on April 4 and has since been played over 3.4 million times on Spotify alone. It is worth noting that the song title is sometimes spelled as “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and that it is a cover of a song by Hungarian artist Jolly, whose real name is Tarcsi Zoltan and who is also credited for the original lyrics. The Japanese lyrics were written by Rucca while M.O.R did the arrangement. QUEENDOM is a special unit whose members include artists Hibiki and Moka from lol, Akina and Taki from FAKY, and Maria Kaneya from GENIC. All of the QUEENDOM members are signed with Avex. The full version release was announced earlier this week.
Ya Boy Kongming anime adaptation premiered in April of this year. In addition to the opening song by QUEENDOM, 96Neko is performing the ending song, which is titled “Kibun Jojo” and also voicing one of the protagonists, Eiko. Ryotaro Okiayu is voicing the titular character Kongming.
Shu Honma is directing Ya Boy Kongming anime, with Kanami Sekiguchi as character designer. Yoko Yonaiyama is overseeing series composition, while Genki Hikota is composing the music. The anime, which is streaming on HiDIVE, is based on a manga by Yuto Yotsuba and Ryo Ogawa.
Kodansha is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
General of the Three Kingdoms, Kongming had struggled his whole life, facing countless battles that made him into the accomplished strategist he was. So on his deathbed, he wished only to be reborn into a peaceful world…and was sent straight to modern-day party-central, Tokyo! Can even a brilliant strategist like Kongming adapt to the wild beats and even wilder party people?!
