Ya Boy Kongming announced a compilation movie for the anime series. The movie is scheduled to premiere on March 1, 2024 in Japan. It will cover all 12 episodes of the anime and is titled Ya Boy Kongming! Road to Summer Sonia. A teaser trailer for the Ya Boy Kongming movie was also released.
Ya Boy Kongming TV anime aired in April 2023. It was directed by Shu Honma, and Genki Hikota composed the music. The opening theme song, titled “Chiki Chiki Bam Bam,” was performed by Special Unit QUEENDOM, while 96Neko performed the ending song, “Kibun Jojo.” The series was animated by Studio P.A. Works and is available for streaming on HiDIVE.
The original manga is by Yuto Yotsuba and Ryo Ogawa. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English and describes the plot as:
General of the Three Kingdoms, Kongming had struggled his whole life, facing countless battles that made him into the accomplished strategist he was. So on his deathbed, he wished only to be reborn into a peaceful world…and was sent straight to modern-day party-central, Tokyo! Can even a brilliant strategist like Kongming adapt to the wild beats and even wilder party people?!
