Funimation will stream The Detective is Already Dead with English subtitles, the popular streaming service announced. One of the most-anticipated Summer 2021 titles begins airing on July 4th, 2021.
The anime will be available for viewers in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, NZ, and Canada, as well as for those in Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Chile. In addition to Funimation, The Detective is Already Dead will also be available on Wakanim in select territories in Europe.
Studio ENGI (Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out) is producing The Detective is Already Dead anime adaptation. Manabu Kurihara is directing, while Yousuke Ito is doing character designs. Deko Akao is taking care of series composition. The anime is based on a light novel by Nigozyu. Mary is singing the opening theme “Koko de Ikiteru”, while Kagura Nana, a popular Vtuber, is performing the ending theme, which is titled “Koudo”.
The cast for the anime is stacked with some popular industry names. Shin Nagai is voicing Kimihiko Kimizuka, while Saki Miyashita voices Siesta. Additionally, Maria Naganawa, Takehito Koyasu, Saho Shirasu, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka are also starring in the anime.
Funimation describes The Detective is Already Dead plot as:
Kimizuka spends 3 years as mysterious detective Siesta’s assistant. When she dies, he must return to a typical high school life. But is she truly dead?
