If Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 11 shows us anything, it’s that you can’t count on the police or the government for anything. Like, literally, a sex-crazed, half-naked catgirl is prancing around and fighting a giant oppai nun while destroying half the city. And not a public official to be seen. Public protection in this show is like a cheap, well-built two-bedroom home; it’s nowhere to be seen.
That thought aside, did you know? A tiger has stripes, a jaguar has spots, and a Leoparde has boobs that giggle like a balloon doing 10G turns. Some may say that having an almost naked cat-girl fighting is a crime against humanity, but a quick look into history shows that nudity in combat is pretty common. Even in modernity, during the Liberian civil war, troops under Joshua “General Butt Naked” Milton Blahyi fought nude as a way to instill terror in opposing troops. But seriously, half the animation budget of this show went to Leoparde’s sweater fillers during her fight with Sister Gigante, and we’re not complaining.
Remember last week when Venalita told Leoparde that if she didn’t meet their standards, they’d give her the boot? Well, Leoparde remembers. In fact, she remembers so well that she decides she’ll give a show of force so extravagant that others won’t soon forget. And with that, she looks at a post-9 (12-1) USA or a current IDF and bombs the ever-loving crap out of Sister Gigante.
While it seems that she has some issues controlling her powers, the thought of having some seggy time with Magia Baiser after a win supercharges her, and she tries her absolute hardest to gawblinate Sister Gigante. But the latter holds up quite well during Leoparde’s onslaught. In fact, for a moment, it seems that Sister Gigante is about to regain the upper hand in a fight as Leoparde struggles to land her attacks. But as she attempts to stomp Leoparde to death, she falls into a hole. For you, it seems Leoparde missing her shots was a calculated move. A move made to entrap Sister Gigante, one that worked perfectly and allowed her to win the fight.
As Leoparde toys with Sister Gigante, she manages to force actual sadness out of her. She even causes her to panic as she threatens to help her evolve into a ghost. But as Leoparde gains victory, both girls transform into their regular selves. Keen viewers notice that Sister Gigante is not seen after the fight.
While Leoparde is playing exhibitionist with a nun whose boobs are the size of a minivan, the rest of Enormita (minus one Magia Baiser) are contending with the swarm of Lord Enorme’s monsters. It is easy to see where the strength of the group lies. Nero Alice, while gifted with a solid ability, is unable to control it for large periods due to her age and goes night to night. This leaves Loco Musica and Leberblume to handle the onslaught, which they courageously do for about three seconds.
Luckily for them, just as they were about to be overwhelmed, Tres Magia finally decided they didn’t have anything better to do, showed up, and saved the day. Or rather, Magia Azure saves the day. Proving that there’s no better way to buff your stats than going through a traumatic event, Magia Azure manages to unlock her La Veritas form and KOs all the monsters in her vicinity.
While all of this is happening in a dimension far away, Magia Baiser is currently pretty tied up. Initially, Lord Enorme managed to quickly trap her, but instead of just popping her off, she decided to gloat. Always remember kids to shoot first, then gloat. Life’s easier that way. Because, as Lord Enorme gloats, her fight against Magia Baiser is over. Magia Baiser is scheming. And if there’s one thing you don’t want a horny pseudo-magical girl to do, it’s scheme.
As Magia Baiser wracks her brain to figure out a way to defeat Lord Enorme, she comes up with an answer: if she had watched more Spongebob and less smut. She would have known it by heart. The key to winning in life is nothing more and nothing less than imagination (even Frieren knows that’s true). Using that power, she manages to boost herself up and revert Lord Enorme into a kid. If all magical attacks have a name, this one is dubbed Le Epstine.
Then, doing a verbal T-pose and asserting dominance by letting Lord Enorme know that someone may beat her. But that’s not happening today. Magia Baiser turns Lord Enorme’s monsters against her, gently lays her on her lap, delicately removes her pantsu, and proceeds to disrobe her. All while gently caressing her jean bumpers, if you didn’t know. Magia Baiser has a thing for butts, and to make Lord Enorme pay for her sins, she’ll spank her so she understands the error of her ways.
Some 65 million years ago, a meteorite hit the earth with enough force and momentum to cause a worldwide extinction-level event. In 1883, Krakatoa exploded, and its sound wave could be heard thousands of miles away. In 1903, a meteor burst over Russia’s Krasnoyarsk Krai, and its shockwave flattened an area of 2,150 km2. All these things put together don’t match the force with which Magia Baiser brought down her hand on Lord Enorme’s ass. Some people believe that all of us are born with a God-given purpose. Well, Magia Baiser was born to ravage Lord Enorme’s back end; that’s a fact; it’s written in stone. But Magia Baiser’s sexual gratification aside, the assault manages to coerce an apology out of Lord Enorme, and she exits with her tail tucked between her legs.
As a wounded man (both physically and mentally), Lord Enorme limps back home. Venalita shows up to taunt her and let her know that, unlike the other Enormita girls, her power is only borrowed. She’s a fake. As Lord Enorme gives in to Venalita’s provocation, she attacks it, only for Sister Gigante to show up and dispose of her. It turns out that Sister Gigante and Venalita were in cahoots.
Utena then shows up trying to find the defeated but not downed Lord Enorme. She asks Venalita where she is. Venalita answers that it disposed of her, but Utena doesn’t quite buy it. Noticing this, either because it was already planned or as a distraction. Venalita lets Utena know that, as Magia Baiser, she’s now the supreme commander of Enormita. And with that, Gushing Over Magical Girls episode 11 concludes.
At times like this, most Ecchi fans would lament the lack of action that fights in shows of this nature have. The fight between Magia Baiser and Lord Enorme could have been one for the ages, but it was over in the blink of an eye. Maybe this is in line with the manga; maybe it was done to show how much more powerful Magia Baiser is. But it feels as if that moment concluded way too easily.
The show has managed to stay consistently entertaining and morally abhorrent. However, its animation has fluctuated and this was unfortunately one of those episodes. While the little faults one can find are nothing obscene or grievous, they are somewhat distracting. Anyway, 11 episodes in, the show has still managed to excite for the most part.
