Haigakura Anime Reveals First Cast Details

The upcoming Haigakura anime by Typhoon Graphics revealed the first cast details ahead of its release in 2024. Check them out alongside their new character visuals below:

  • Ichiyou: Takeo Otsuka
  • Tenkou: Kaito Ishikawa
  • Hakushurin: Lynn
  • Ransaiwa: Hiro Shimono
  • Sontou: Satoshi Hino

Comments from the cast members also came alongside their announcements. Takeo Otsuka, who voices the main character, Ichiyou, said: “When I read the original work, I was excited by the unique characters and the detailed worldview. I will do my best to play Kazuha so that you can enjoy it in the anime! Nice to meet you!

Kaito Ishikawa (Tenkou) added: “I hope I can play the role by paying close attention to the complex aspects of this bright and energetic person. I hope that everyone can enjoy the charm of the original work, which has both delicacy and a profound worldview, in the anime!

The cast announcement follows the Haigakura trailer release from December. Director Junichi Yamamoto will reunite with scriptwriter Yu Mirai; they both worked on Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke’s Mansion. Masaki Sato (Initial D) is doing the character designs, and Yuki Kurihara (Dropkick on My Devil!) is in charge of the music. The anime series adapts Shinobu Takayama’s manga of the same name, which has been published by Ichijinsha since 2008. The series is currently serialized in Ichijinsha’s Zero Sum Online, which most recently saw The Most Heretical Last Boss Queen receive an anime adaptation. The Haigakura series sees Ichijou and Tenkou travel the world in search of the Four Evils who hold the key to the collapse of their world.
