August 7 marks the birthday of Hana Uzaki, the titular protagonist of Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!, and a special birthday illustration for the character was released. According to the anime’s official website, the birthday illustration was inspired by of Hana Uzaki’s baggy shirt fashion.
Official computer and smartphone wallpapers of the birthday illustration are available to download, and an acrylic stand featuring the design is now available for sale on the website.
Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! returns for a second season, which will be released in the fall of this year. Kazuya Miura will be directing it, and Takashi Aoshima is in charge of the series composition. Manabu Kurihara is designing the characters, and Kurihara joins Shinpei Koikawa and Masahiko Suzuki as chief animation directors. Previously-announced cast members include:
Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out! is based on a manga by Take. It has been serialized through Niconico Seiga’s Dra Dra Sharp website since December 2017. An anime television series adaptation by ENGI aired from July to September 2020. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the manga in English, describing the plot as follows:
Sakurai Shinichi’s one wish is for a little peace and quiet. But Uzaki Hana–his boisterous, well-endowed underclassman–has other plans. All she wants is to hang out and poke fun at him. With the help of her chipper charm and peppy persistence, this might just be the start of a beautiful relationship!
