Heaven Official’s Blessing will be rebroadcast in Japan starting on October 8, as announced earlier at the Aniplex Online Fest 2023. The Japanese dub of the donghua, starring Hiroshi Kamiya, Jun Fukuyama, Yoko Hikasa and Takehito Koyasu, will begin broadcasting in January 2024. Check out the retrospective trailer of the first season:
Haoliners Animation League animated the Heaven Official’s Blessing donghua, which ran for 12 episodes (including a special episode after the finale) on BiliBili and Funimation and also got an English dubbed version. A special episode was also released after the finale. Heaven Official’s Blessing (Tian Guan Ci Fu) is based on a novel series written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu. The second season is in the works and is now scheduled to premiere later this year.
A webtoon by STARember is currently ongoing, which Bilibili Comics licensed in English. They describe the story:
800 years ago, Xie Lian was a pure-blooded and noble Crown Prince, a well-regarded child of Heaven with unlimited potential. But who knew that, after he ascended and became a god with tens of thousands of worshippers, his fate would take such a sharp downhill turn? He was demoted again and again, and fell to rock bottom. 800 years later, Xie Lian ascended again, but this time, without worshippers or and without incense. One day, after returning from collecting scraps, he took a mysterious young man home. And this young man was the Ghost King that made others pale in fear whenever discussed—Hua Cheng.
