Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable is premiering on January 8, 2024, as confirmed in a new short commercial at today’s Jump Festa ’24 stage. Studios BLADE and SILVER LINK are animating.
The information was revealed during a Jump Festa ’24 stage attended by Nobunaga Shimazaki, Ayane Sakura, Reina Ueda, and Yumiri Hanamori. Masayoshi Oishi, who is performing the opening theme song “Namara Menkoi Gal,” also joined as a surprise guest. Don’t miss the latest trailer that features the song:

Mirai Minato (Masamune-kun’s Revenge) is the chief director for the series and will be handling the series composition. Misuzu Hoshino (The Maid I Hired Recently Is Mysterious) is listed as the director while Katsuyuki Sato (My Stepmom’s Daughter Is My Ex) is handling the character designs.
Ayane Sakura is voicing the main female protagonist Minami Fuyuki while Nobunaga Shimazaki is voicing the main male protagonist Tsubasa Shiki. Sakura is known for her roles as Yotsuba Nakano from The Quintessential Quintuplets and Ochako Uraraka from My Hero Academia, Shimazaki his roles as Yuno from Black Clover and Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen. Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable is based on the manga written and illustrated by Kai Ikada. The series first began serialization in 2019 on the Shonen Jump+ website and mobile app and has since released a total of 105 chapters and 12 volumes. Volume 1 of the manga had such high demand that it received an immediate reprint. It does not currently have an English print release. The Hokkaido Gals Are Super Adorable manga series currently has over 500,000 copies in circulation as of December 2023.
Manga Plus is currently publishing the chapters in English and describes the story as:
High school boy Tsubasa moves to Kitami City up in Hokkaido, where he meets a “gal” at a bus stop. The sight of her standing alone against the white snowscape, bare-legged despite the freezing cold, captures his heart.
