On January 8th and 15th (PST), Hololive EN’s 1st and 2nd Generation revealed their 2022 New Year outfits! The outfit streams were showcased on their channels.
Instead of the usual line-up, the order of the members was changed to make up for the technical difficulties experienced in the last Holomyth dress reveal, Kiara being first round. This is the first time both generations had an unveiling together, also serving as Council’s very first outfit reveal.

Myth – January 8th, 2022
Takanashi Kiara, 1:00 PM (PST) / 6:00 AM (JST) Kiara’s stream is first on the list, inviting the viewers to join her on a trip to Hokkaido to visit the mountain shrine! A quick and funny PSA entertains the fans before she moves onto the Kimono reveal, showcasing a beautiful white kimono with various rebirth motifs, not to mention a pink wing accessory and chicken fan. She also has two hairstyles, cute twin tails and a long straight do.
Ninomae Ina’nis, 1:30 PM (PST) / 6:30 AM (JST) At first glance, you can already tell that Ina’s outfit is modest, the spitting image of refined. The various patterns on her outfit are striking and clever, and many of the viewers were in awe of the design. She also tells the story of “The Tako Siblings” adding lore to the two octopus shaped hair buns on her head as well as her tiny takodachi handbag.
Gawr Gura,2:00 PM (PST) / 7:00 AM (JST) Gura’s introduction had a bit of a twist, educating us with the birth of a shark that leads up to her new outfit. The Atlantean’s light blue kimono is similar to her original outfit, while her shoulders are exposed with a white warmer wrapped around her neck. Cute accessories that remind you of fish fins, a cute detail that goes along with her short hair. Lastly, a tiny shrimp sits on the top of her head.
Watson Amelia,2:30 PM (PST) / 7:30 AM (JST) The bright yellow and dark blue palette is a big change to her previous outfits, but a welcome one. Her koi-themed kimono is simple yet adorable, designed with tiny orange fishes and bubbles. Which brings us to her little companion sitting on the top of her head, a (robotic) goldfish in a plastic bag, balancing on the talent’s head. Similar to her phoenix friend, Amelia also has another hairstyle other than her short messy hair – it seems like, with the magic of hair extensions, she’s able to tie her hair in simple twin tails!
Mori Calliope,3:00 PM (PST) / 8:00 AM (JST) Calliope’s outfit looks familiar right off the bat. If you’ve listened to her single Off With Their Heads, you can see the reaper wearing her iconic dark misty-themed kimono. Wearing a red and blue obi with various patterns, while rocking a new short hairstyle. Along with her new style are a fox mask and a sake cup to complete the mysterious vibe.
After all the members got to present their new year kimonos, a full member collab was held on Kiara’s Channel, where they played a few rounds of Worms W.M.D.
Not only did the idols and viewers enjoy their game, but they also had exciting new announcements, including their new original song Journey Like a Thousand Years, available to stream all on platforms since January 14th. Mori is in charge of the MV and Lyrics, while Ina took care of the illustrations.
Hololive EN’s Council in their 2022 New Year Outfits
Council – January 15th, 2022
Tsukumo Sana,1:00 PM (PST) / 6:00 AM (JST) The goddess of space welcomed the viewers in her tatami room, behind the door leading to… outer space? From there began her reveal, starting from the bottom immediately seeing the galaxy themed design of her purple kimono. The blue, violet and pink gradient design is a cute design that matches her theme, with the gold linings of the flowers and stars being a nice touch. But what really got the chat’s eye was her funny horse mask as the camera pans to the top, she tells the viewers the debut of Neighbula. Later on, Sana removes the head to reveal the rest of her beautiful outfit, hair in twin braids with a tiny flower pin attached.
Ceres Fauna,1:30 PM (PST) / 6:30 AM (JST) Fauna’s stream starts off simple, reviewing the outfit predictions in a cafe before coming back to the stream as the chat’s server. Her outfit is interesting since the red in her clothing is more dominant now. The maid design fits her gentle personality, especially with the gorgeous lacing of her apron. Similar to her space friend, mother nature also has her hair in braids.
Ouro Kronii, 2:00 PM (PST) / 7:00 AM (JST) Her stream may not have been on the designated schedule, but it’s better to be fashionably late. The Warden of Time’s outfit is featuring an albino snake. The summer palette is a big difference from her original one, not to mention her time-themed fan is a nice touch to her overall look.
Nanashi Mumei, 2:30 PM (PST) / 7:30 AM (JST) The stream begins with Mumei standing on top of a mountain. The talent tells fans that it’s cold there, and that she needed something to warm her up. She spots a dress shop not long after. As she changes into her new look, she unveils a white kimono draped with a red cape and a brown beret. Just like the other girls, she also got a new hairstyle, shorter than her usual. Mumei’s companion has a tiny hat too, and in her hands is an extra owl friend, resting inside her little accessory basket.
Hakos Baelz, 3:00 PM (PST) / 8:00 AM (JST) The stream opens as an otome game. The god of Chaos asked the chat for help in picking out her clothes. Soon after, she begins reviewing the art of her kimono made by the fans, before finally showcasing the final outcome at the shrine, Baelz wears a beautiful outfit dominated by yellow, black and white. The checkered pattern is laced with blue and red, designed with various flowers of the same color. This time, she’s let her hair down with cute buns, and she’s also got a black rat mask along with the attire!
Just like Myth, a full member collab followed afterward on Ceres’ Channel, where they had a hilarious Pictionary stream. They also talked about the original song from Mumei and Kronii coming up. Be sure to keep an eye out for it!
Will Hololive’s Hope get her own 2022 New Year Outfit?
Many fans are speculating as to why Myth and Council are the only ones getting outfits, which was answered at the end of the official Reddit thread.
